
Barons Season Opener this Sunday

Oklahoma City Barons News Release
Oklahoma City - The Oklahoma City Barons, AHL affiliate of the Edmonton Oilers, open the 11-12 season Sunday against the Texas Stars in Cedar Park, Texas.
Barons head coach Todd Nelson has 13 players returning from the 10-11 squad that won 40 games and qualified for the Calder Cup playoffs. Among those returnees are forwards Mark Arcobello, Ryan O'Marra, Teemu Hartikainen and Chris VandeVelde as well as defensemen Colten Teubert, Alex Plante, and Bryan Helmer.
Faceoff for the game this Sunday in Cedar Park, Texas is 5 p.m. The Texas Stars are the AHL affiliate of the Dallas Stars. The game can be heard on the Barons flagship station, 96.1 KXY and can be viewed on a pay-per-view basis at AHLLIVE.com. Jim Byers returns to handle the play-by-play duties.
The Barons home opener is just nine days away on October 15 against the Texas Stars at 7 p.m. For the home opener, the Barons have teamed with Susan G. Komen Foundation's Race for the Cure to raise awareness for breast cancer research. Every fan who attends the game will receive a pink t-shirt from the Barons and Mercy Hospital.
