Worcester Sharks and Saint Vincent Hospital Unveil Ground Breaking Community Initiative

WORCESTER, Mass. ... Worcester Sharks President Michael A. Mudd in partnership with Saint Vincent Hospital has announced a ground breaking community initiative called "FINZ Fit Kidz", designed to promote the importance of exercise and making healthy choices by youths throughout central Massachusetts.

The FINZ Fit Kidz initiative will open with a concussion symposium at the Saint Vincent Hospital Atrium on Thursday, October 13th at 6 p.m. hosted by nationally renowned concussion expert Chris Nowinski and will include the entire Worcester Sharks hockey team.

In addition, it was announced that the entire MidState Junior Sharks youth hockey program has made it mandatory for all youth hockey players (peewee level and above) to receive the ImPACT testing for the 2011-12 season. The ImPACT testing will be provided by Saint Vincent Hospital through the FINZ Fit Kidz program.

Several youth hockey players from the MidState Junior Sharks will be taking their ImPACT Test on the evening of October 13th at Saint Vincent Hospital between 5:30 p.m. and 7:30 p.m.

The FINZ Fit Kidz program is a school assembly format throughout the hockey season which includes a leave behind work booklet and includes a free ticket to a Worcester Sharks compliments of Saint Vincent Hospital.
