Canadiens Assign Gabriel Dumont to Bulldogs

MONTREAL, QUE. - Montreal Canadiens and Hamilton Bulldogs general manager Marc Bergevin announced today the Canadiens have assigned forward Gabriel Dumont to the Bulldogs.

Dumont has split this season between the Canadiens and Bulldogs. In three games with Montreal, he has recorded no points or penalty minutes. In 40 games with Hamilton, he has recorded 27 points (12 goals, 15 assists) and 54 penalty minutes.

In 18 career National Hockey League regular season games with the Canadiens, the 5-10, 184-pound forward has recorded three points (one goal, two assists) and 13 penalty minutes. In 292 career American Hockey League regular season games with the Bulldogs, the Ville Degelis, Que. native has recorded 136 points (65 goals, 71 assists) and 382 penalty minutes.

The 24-year-old was selected by the Canadiens in the fifth round (139th overall) in the 2009 NHL Entry Draft. In his fifth full season with the Bulldogs, Dumont was named the 13th captain in team history at the beginning of the 2014-15 campaign.

The Bulldogs will be back in action on Tuesday, Feb. 10 when they'll host the Iowa Wild at FirstOntario Centre at 7:30 p.m.
