Behind another dominant outing from LHP Derek Callahan, the Bullfrogs edged out a 4-2 victory over the Mallards on Wednesday, improving to 5-9 in the second half of the season.

The Bullfrogs took the lead first in the first inning. Boomer White drove in Bryant Burleson with an RBI single to give Green Bay a 1-0 advantage.

All the remainder of the runs for the Bullfrogs were unearned to Madison pitching. The Bullfrogs added on in the third inning, when Jimmy Coady came home on an error by Madison center fielder Tate Matheny.

In the seventh, the 'Frogs added on two more on another Madison error, this time made by left fielder Luke Meeteer. The Bullfrogs led it 4-0 after seven innings.

All the while, Callahan was rolling and controlling the game. Through seven innings, he had not walked any batters and had not yet allowed an earned run.

Madison made things interesting, however, plating two in the eighth with RBI groundouts from John LaPrise and Mike Reuvekamp. Both runs were charged to Callahan.

In the ninth inning, the Bullfrogs couldn't avoid drama. Brian Trieglaff came in for his second save opportunity of the season. Facing the bottom of the order, he loaded the bases with two outs, before getting LaPrise, the league's leading hitter, to fly out in the infield to end the game.

The final score was 4-2 in favor of Green Bay. The win went to Callahn (2-0). The loss went to Nick Smith (1-1). Trieglaff earned his second save of the season.

The Bullfrogs improved to 5-9 in the second half with the victory.
