Battle Creek, Mich - The Battle Creek Bombers (5-10) fell to the Lakeshore Chinooks (11-4) on Wednesday night at C.O. Brown Stadium by a run, 5-4.

Lakeshore scored first in the fourth inning off Bombers starter Hunter Devall (L 1-3). An RBI single from Mike Papi that plated Andrew Stevenson. The Bombers answered with a run of their own in the fifth. Daniel Cucjen scored on a Cam Gibson single to tie the game at one. That base hit also extended Gibson's hitting streak to 25 games. Devall left after five innings of work where he recorded four strikeouts. He made way for Kenton San Miguel. Lakeshore scored two runs off the Battle Creek reliever to go ahead 5-1.

Battle Creek inched closer in the seventh. An RBI single by Kade Scivicque plated Cucjen and Gabe Acevedo. The game remained 5-3 into the bottom of the ninth where with two outs, Scivicque kept the Bombers hopes alive with a solo homer to pull Battle Creek to within a run, but Luke Lowery (S 1) finished the job. Jake Johansmeier started for Lakeshore and went six innings surrendering just one earned run and striking out three. Caleb Vincent (2-1) will start for Battle Creek tomorrow.
