Thunder Bay Border Cats News Release

Albert Baur hit a walk-off grand slam home run in the bottom of the 9th inning as the Alexandria Blue Anchors rallied past the Border Cats 12-10 Tuesday night at Knute Nelson Memorial Park.  It was Baur's second home run of the night and capped a six-run rally for the Blue Anchors in their final at-bat.  Steven Pastrana (Dominican College) gave up two hits and two runs to take the loss, dropping his record to 0-1.  Caleb Smith (Rice University) started for Thunder Bay, but lasted just 4 2/3 innings.  Smith allowed seven hits and four runs with six walks and three strikeouts.

Following back-to-back shutout losses in Waterloo, the Cats offense exploded for 10 runs and 17 hits, but Thunder Bay's second half record fell to 3-10.  Kyle Hann (Mississippi State University) knocked in three runs as he went 3-5.  Ty Stetson (Murray State University) went 2-3 with two runs batted in and two runs scored.  Tyler Duplantis (Nicholls State University) had a 2-6 night at the plate with a double, two runs and two RBI.  Jacob Rogers (Eastern New Mexico University), Joey Hawkins (Missouri State University) and Dylan Becker (Missouri State University) all collected two hits in the loss.

The Cats and Blue Anchors conclude their two-game series tonight at 8:05pm ET.
