Calgary, AB - The Calgary Roughnecks announced today their 2007 regular season schedule. Calgary will kick off the season with back-to-back games starting with their home opener on Friday, January 12th vs. the San Jose Stealth and then the Roughnecks are off to Edmonton to take on the Rush on Saturday, January 13th.
The Calgary Roughnecks will play host to the Philadelphia Wings for the first time in franchise history on February 10th at 7:30pm at the Pengrowth Saddledome. The last time these two teams met was in the Roughnecks 2nd season in 2003. Philadelphia was victorious over the Roughnecks winning the game 19-13 in front of 15,689 Philly fans.
The Calgary Roughnecks face four back-to-back games during the 2007 campaign. In addition to the opening weekend the Roughnecks play a home and home series with Toronto starting Friday, February 23rd in Calgary and Saturday, February 24th in Toronto; Friday, March 30th at Portland and home to Portland the following night March 30th. The Roughnecks close out their season with their final back-to-back starting Friday, April 13th in Arizona finishing with their provincial rivals, the Edmonton Rush on Saturday, April 14th at Rexall Place in Edmonton.
This years NLL ALL-STAR game will be held in Portland on Saturday, March 10th at the Rose Garden. For further information regarding the ALL-STAR game please visit the www.nll.com or www.portlandjax.com .
Other schedule notables is that the 2007 regular season has the Roughnecks playing all 8 home games on Friday's (3 games) and Saturday's (5 games).
The Roughnecks will look to open their 2007 training camp Saturday, November 11th. The Roughnecks will be planning a special meet and greet with the Roughnecks players for all fans and members of the media. Further details to follow.
