
Wings Open 2007 Season Against Edmonton

The Philadelphia Wings indoor lacrosse team opens the 2007 season on Saturday, January 6, on the road against the Edmonton Rush at Rexall Place. The Wings open the home portion of their 2007 campaign at the Wachovia Center on Saturday, January 13 against the Portland LumberJax.
The Wings will play eight different opponents in their eight-game home schedule, all of which will be played on Saturday nights at 7:30 p.m.. Home opponents include the Portland LumberJax on January 13; the San Jose Stealth on January 20; the Toronto Rock on January 27; the Buffalo Bandits on February 17; the Rochester Knighthawks on March 3; the Minnesota Swarm on March 17; the Chicago Shamrox on March 24, and the yet-unnamed New York franchise on April 7.
"By moving up our Saturday night start time one-half hour to 7:30 p.m., we hope to be able to accommodate more families with young children," said Wings Owner and President Russ Cline. "We have a strong line-up of opponents at home including both expansion teams, Chicago and New York. Combined with visits from our traditional rivals Buffalo, Rochester and Toronto, we have an exciting home schedule set for our fans."
Highlighting the Wings 2007 season is 2006 first-round draft pick and All-Rookie Team member Sean Greenhalgh. Greenhalgh is joined by veteran forward Jake Bergey, who returns for his tenth NLL season and team captain, defenseman Thomas Hajek.
