Edmonton, AB - The Calgary Hitmen scored five powerplay goals in a 5-2 win over the Oil Kings in Edmonton Friday night.
Joel Broda led the way scoring twice (2g 1a) to pass the 200 career point mark.
Brandon Kozun (1g 2a) also had three points while Ian Schultz and Chase Schaber added the other Hitmen goals. Matt MacKenzie chipped in a pair of assists.
Calgary built period leads of 2-0 and 4-2 but were outshot by the Oil Kings 33-31.
Michael Snider made 31 saves to lower his WHL leading goals against average to 2.11.
The win improves the Hitmen record to 11-3. They remain tied with the Portland Winterhawks for number one overall.
Calgary will enjoy a day off before hosting the Seattle Thunderbirds Sunday afternoon. Game time is 2:00 p.m. at the Pengrowth Saddledome.
