ROUND ROCK, Texas - The Texas Rangers announced yesterday that catcher Robinson Chirinos and right-hander Wilmer Font have been optioned to Round Rock after infielder/outfielder Jeff Baker and outfielder Craig Gentry were activated from the 15-day DL.

In 10 games over two stints with the Rangers this season, Chirinos was batting .154 (4-for-26) with two doubles and three runs scored. He has played four of his last seven games at first base with appearances as a pinch hitter, designated hitter and third baseman as well. Chirinos was 0-for-10 over his last six games with Texas and was most recently recalled on June 18.

Font tossed 1.1 scoreless innings with the Rangers since his recall on July 11. The right-hander was 1-0 with a 0.00 ERA in four games (3.1 IP) with the Express before joining the Rangers.

After these moves, the current Express roster sits at 25 active players and one major league rehab.
