The Chicago Cubs have announced the following roster moves affecting the Myrtle Beach Pelicans:
-C Cael Brockmeyer has been assigned to Double-A Tennessee from Myrtle Beach.
-C Erick Castillo has been activated from the 7-day disabled list.
-RHP Daniel Lewis will now wear No. 8.
Brockmeyer had reached in 15 of his previous 16 games at the time of the promotion. In 24 games this year, he is hitting .190/.293/.367 with four home runs and 12 RBIs. The Cal State Bakersfield product played at four different levels in 2015, hitting .217/.324/.342 with three homers and 24 RBIs on Myrtle Beach's 2015 Carolina League championship squad.
Castillo just completed his second DL stint with the Pelicans this season. The Venezuelan native played in three games with Low-A South Bend in 2016, going 0-for-8 with a walk. Last season, he batted .219/.247/.248 with four doubles and 13 RBIs between South Bend and Tennessee.
The Pelicans' roster sits at 25 active players, with two players on the disabled list.
