Harrisburg Senators News Release

Harrisburg, PA - Seth Bynum drilled his second home run of the day, a two-run walk-off shot to left in the bottom of the 9th, to propel the Harrisburg Senators to a 5-4 win over the Altoona Curve. The victory turned around a tough homestand for the Senators.

The Curve took the lead with a pair of two-out RBI hits in the 3rd inning. Shelby Ford led off the inning with a double, but was still there until Jamie Romak lined an RBI single to center to make it 1-0 Altoona. After a walk, James Boone ripped an 0-2 pitch into right field to plate another run and extend the deficit to 2-0.

The Senators came back with the help of a pair of round-trippers in the 4th. Bynum clubbed a solo shot to start the inning. Three batters later, Bill Rhinehart ripped a low liner over the fence in right for a two-run homer to put Harrisburg up, 3-2.

Altoona came back in the top of the 8th against RHP Adam Carr. His first pitch was launched by Steve Lerud for a solo homer to tie the game at 3-3. Angel Gonzalez followed with a triple and two batters later, Ford lined a single to right to give the Curve a 4-3 advantage.

Harrisburg brought the tying run to the plate in the 9th when Mike Daniel ripped a pinch-hit single to right-center. That set the stage for Bynum, who hit a high drive over the fence in left to give the Senators the 5-4 win.

Carr (3-2) picked up the win despite struggling in the 8th. Altoona RHP Ronald Belisario took the loss to fall to 4-3.

The Senators improved to 66-56. Altoona dipped to 55-68.

The Senators have a travel day on Monday as they embark on a ten-game road trip. They play a doubleheader Tuesday against the New Hampshire Fisher Cats beginning at 6:05 PM. Harrisburg sends RHP Jordan Zimmermann (6-2, 3.29 ERA) to the mound against New Hampshire RHP Mike MacDonald (0-2, 4.50 ERA) in Game 1. In the nightcap, it's Harrisburg LHP Justin Jones (2-3, 5.34 ERA) taking on New Hampshire RHP Jean Machi (1-5, 5.57 ERA).
