Altoona Curve News Release

HARRISBURG, Pa - Harrisburg's Seth Bynum crushed a pair of home runs, including a walk-off winner in the bottom of the ninth inning to power the Senators past the Altoona Curve, 5-4 at Commerce Bank Park on Sunday afternoon.

With the Curve in front, 4-3 headed into the ninth, Bynum's dramatic two-run homer off Ronald Belisario (4-3) gave Harrisburg (66-56), their second victory in the five-game set in the series finale.

In a see-saw game, Altoona (55-68) jumped out to an early 2-0 edge in the top of the third inning. Jamie Romak and James Boone each provided RBI singles to put the Curve out in front.

Starter Jared Hughes, who tossed six innings, hit a rough spot in the bottom of the fourth. Harrisburg plated a trio of runs off the 6'7" righty. Featured in that inning was Bynum's first home run of the afternoon.

The Senators would hold that lead until Altoona jumped out to 4-3 advantage in the top of the eighth off reliever Adam Carr (3-2).

Steve Lerud, who finished the afternoon 3-for-5, crushed his fourth long ball of the year to knot the score, 3-3. The very next batter, Angel Gonzalez (2-for-4) tripled, before Shelby Ford (2-for-4) knocked him home with a single to put the Curve in front, 4-3.

Belisario, in search of his team-leading eight save of the year, struck out Edgardo Baez for the first out of the inning. Pinch-hitter Mike Daniel then singled before Bynum, the winning run, hit the homer for the walk-off win.

The Curve will enjoy a travel day on Monday before they open a three-game series against the Portland SeaDogs (Red Sox) at 7:00 p.m. from Hadlock Field. Right-hander Dan Reichert (1-3, 5.74) will take the stump for the Curve, while Portland has yet to announce their rotation for the series.

Fans can catch all the action beginning at 6:45 p.m. with the Curve GameDay Show, presented by the Hotel Belmar and Budget Beverage on the Curve Radio Network, or live online at AltoonaCurve.com.

The Curve will return home to Blair County Ballpark on Tuesday, August 19 at 7:05 p.m. Only ten Curve home games remain. Fans looking for tickets to see the Curve as the 2008 season winds down should call 877-99-CURVE, log on to AltoonaCurve.com or stop by the BCB ticket windows.
