
BU's McConnell comes to Trenton

TRENTON, NJ (October 4, 2005) - The Trenton Titans announced on Tuesday that they have agreed to terms with forward Brian McConnell for the 2005-06 season.
McConnell, 22, enters his rookie year after tallying 9 goals, 12 assists and 71 penalty minutes in 40 games during his senior season at Boston University. The 6'0", 190 lbs-native of Norfolk, Massachusetts was a four-year letterman for the Terriers with whom he totaled 88 points (42g, 46 a) and 277 penalty minutes over 149 games (2002-05). A second round draft pick (#39 overall) of the Calgary Flames in the 2002 NHL Entry Draft, McConnell appeared in the training camps of the both the Boston and Providence Bruins.
In addition, the Titans announced that the Bridgeport Sound Tigers (AHL) have reassigned defenseman Mike Jarmuth and center Mark Lee to Trenton.
Jarmuth, 23, spent last year, his rookie season, with the Mississippi Sea Wolves notching 13 goals, 23 assists, 36 points and 24 penalty minutes in 72 games. A native of Monkton, Ontario, Jarmuth completed his four-year (2000-04) collegiate career at Western Michigan University with 13 goals, 56 assists and 69 points in 143 career games. Jarmuth, 6'0", 210 lbs, also had two assists and two penalty minutes in eight games with the United Hockey League's Kalamazoo Wings following his senior season at Western Michigan.
Lee, 21, posted 20 goals, 47 assists, 67 points and 65 penalty minutes in 78 games last season with the Kansas City Outlaws of the UHL. The 5'10'' 181-pounder from Mount Pearl, Newfoundland earned UHL Player of the Week honors early last April and was Kansas City's Rookie of the Year. He spent the previous season (2003-04) with the Prince Edward Island Rocket of the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League compiling 25 points (11g, 24a) and 53 PIM in 65 games.
