FC Dallas News Release

DALLAS - The Dallas Burn hold the fourth and six overall selections in the 2004 MLS SuperDraft which will be held this Friday, January 16 at 9:00 a.m. (CT) in Charlotte, North Carolina. The first hour of the draft will be covered live on FOX Sports World with the entire draft available on www.mlsnet.com.

"There's a great deal of posturing and talks going on between the teams right now," said Burn Head Coach Colin Clarke. "We're looking to do whatever makes the most sense to improve our squad. Whether that means picking a player at four or six or trading one of our picks to get an immediate impact player - it just basically comes down to what will improve our team the most."

In addition to their two picks in the first round, the Burn also holds the 29th, 31st and 54th selections in the draft. The Burn obtained the fourth overall selection in the draft on August 19 from DC United in a trade that brought Ali Curtis to the Burn for Ronald Cerritos (Dallas also obtained United's sixth round selection in the deal). The sixth overall selection was acquired from Los Angeles on July 11 in a deal that brought Ezra Hendrickson and Gavin Glinton to the Burn for Ryan Suarez, Paul Broome and Antonio Martinez.
