Jacksonville Jumbo Shrimp News Release

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - The Miami Marlins announced a pair of transactions that impact their Double-A affiliate Jacksonville Suns roster prior to tonight's games against the Mobile BayBears at Bragan Field at 5:05 p.m.

Left-handed relief pitcher Alex Burgos has been transferred from Jacksonville to Triple-A New Orleans. In four relief appearances, Burgos was 1-1 with a 1.13 ERA in eight innings pitched.

In a corresponding move, right-handed pitcher Tyler Bremer has been transferred from Triple-A New Orleans to Jacksonville. With the Zephyrs Bremer had no wins or losses in five appearances with a 5.00 ERA, allowing five runs in nine innings pitched. Bremer has spent the majority of the 2015 season with High-A Jupiter, going 0-3 with a 2.33 ERA in 37 appearances with four saves.

Bremer was acquired by the Marlins in a August 8, 2014 trade with the Chicago Cubs along with righth-handed pitcher Jose Arias in exchange for right-handed starting pitcher Jacob Turner. Bremer was originally selected by the Chicago Cubs in the 27th round of the 2012 draft out of Baylor University.

The Suns roster now stands at 24 active players, and a revised roster is attached.
