Bundy, Townsend Earn Orioles Honors

Frederick, MD - Frederick Keys right-handed pitcher Bobby Bundy and first baseman Tyler Townsend have been named Pitcher and Player of the Month for May in the Orioles Minor League System by the Orioles Player Development Department.

Both will be honored with an on-field ceremony prior to a future home game at Harry Grove Stadium.

Bundy had a big May going 3-1 with a 2.93 ERA in five starts. A native of Owasso, Oklahoma, Bundy was selected by the Orioles in the eighth round of the 2008 MLB First-Year Player Draft. He spent the entire 2010 campaign with Class-A Delmarva in the South Atlantic League. Bundy led the Shorebirds in ERA, innings pitched, and strikeouts. He currently leads all Orioles minor league pitchers in wins (5), earned run average (2.91) and strikeouts (52).

Townsend continued harnessing his power stroke batting .281 with five home runs and 14 runs batted in. The Orioles third round selection in the 2009 draft out of Florida International, Townsend is fourth in the system in batting average (.305), tied for second in home runs (8), and second in runs driven in (31).
