WINSTON-SALEM, NC (JUNE 2, 2011) - In a partnership with Lowe's Home Improvement, the Winston-Salem Dash will participate in a Habitat for Humanity of Forsyth County wall build for the second straight year. The build will take place on June 11.

Five Dash players, five team officials, ten volunteer Dash fans, and ten Lowe's employees will combine to build wall frames that will be used for local Habitat for Humanity projects. Volunteers from Habitat for Humanity will be on hand as guides to building the walls. The materials will be provided by Lowe's Home Improvement.

"Reaching out into the Winston-Salem community is paramount for our organization," Dash President Geoff Lassiter said. "Our partnership with Lowe's and this special promotion allow us to do just that. It is outstanding support for our community."

Those interested in participating in the Dash wall build should contact Sherry Flynn of Habitat for Humanity of Forsyth County at (336) 765-8854 ext.105 or sherry.flynn@habitatforsyth.org.

Last year's event took place on the 25th anniversary of the Habitat for Humanity of Forsyth County. Dash players Terry Doyle, Kyle Shelton, Logan Johnson, Kyle Bellamy, and Jon Gilmore participated in what became the fastest wall build in the history of the Habitat for Humanity of Forsyth County. The organization also gained numerous volunteers for future events because of the interest in the wall build with the Dash.

In conjunction with the event, Habitat for Humanity will take hundreds of Habitat homeowners and families to a Dash game for free on July 8. Donations are currently being accepted for the homeowners to enjoy a game at BB&T Ballpark. Those who wish to donate can call the Habitat for Humanity of Forsyth County at (336) 765-8854.
