Bulls Reel in Steelheads, 4-2

SAN FRANCISCO, Calif. - Home cooking was just what the doctor ordered as the San Francisco Bulls, sparked by two third-period goals, ended the Idaho Steelheads' 11-game unbeaten streak with a 4-2 victory at the Cow Palace on Friday night. Alex Tuckerman registered his first professional goal, while Scott Langdon scored his first as a member of the Bulls to put the home team over the top. Thomas Heemskerk picked up the victory, stopping 21 saves for his third win of the season.

The Bulls opened the scoring when Marek Viedensky, recently assigned by the San Jose Sharks, lifted a shot over Tyler Beskorowany at the 7:57 mark of the first period. Peter Sivak and Kris Belan earned the assists of Viedensky's first goal in his first game with the Bulls. The Bulls led 1-0 after one period and out-shot Idaho 7-4.

In the second period, Idaho struck twice in the span of 22 seconds to grab a 2-1 lead. Jeremie Blain tied the game at one on the power play. Then, David de Kastrozza put the Steelheads on top with an even-strength goal at 3:29. The Bulls evened up the score on Sacha Guimond's power-play goal at 7:23 of the middle frame. Justin Bowers and Dean Ouellet earned the assists on the play. The Bulls led 20-13 in shots through 40 minutes.

Tuckerman regained the Bulls' lead at 5:21 of the third period. Escaping from the corner, Tuckerman jammed a shot home while on one knee for a 3-2 Bulls advantage. Belan earned his second assist of the game on the go-ahead tally. Langdon upped the score to 4-2 when his blast eluded Beskorowany. Ouellet and Jordan Morrison picked up the helpers.

The Bulls continue their three-game weekend on home ice against the Utah Grizzlies tomorrow and Sunday. On Saturday, the first 1,000 fans 13 and over receive a Bulls Schedule T-Shirt. After the game on Sunday, kids 12 and under can go onto the Cow Palace ice and shoot at the Bulls goal. The puck drops at 7:15 pm on Saturday and 2:15 pm on Sunday.
