Bulls Go Down at Home to Skyhawks, 114-103

The Windy City Bulls, presented by BMO Harris Bank, the official G League affiliate of the Chicago Bulls, lost at home to the College Park Skyhawks Friday night, 114-103.

College Park came out firing from the opening tip, jumping out to an early 13-4 lead. Windy City stormed back behind Milton Doyle and Chicago Bulls Two-Way player Adam Mokoka on a 10-2 run of their own to close the gap to just two points after one quarter, 29-27.

Throughout the first half, the Skyhawks used solid outside shooting from Jordan Sibert (15 points on 3-for-4 from three in the first two quarters) as well as post-play from Marcus Derrickson (8 points and 7 rebounds) and former Michigan State Spartan Nick Ward (16 points and 7 rebounds).

The defense in the second quarter by College Park led to ten total steals for the half including five by Sibert alone. The Skyhawks also shot .556 overall and .462 from long range, assisting on 17 of 25 made baskets to close the half on a 25-10 run, and take a 68-53 advantage into the break.

Leading the way for the Bulls were Doyle with 12 points and two assists, Mokoka with seven points and four rebounds, and new addition to Windy City on Assignment from the Denver Nuggets, former Kentucky Wildcat Jared Vanderbilt with eight points.

The Windy City shooting heated up to open the second half and the Bulls used eight turnovers by College Park to race out to a 17-7 run and cut the lead to deficit to three, 81-78, led by eight points in the third quarter by Denver Nuggets Two-Way player P.J. Dozier. The Skyhawks led by seven heading into the final frame, 87-80.

The strong shooting continued for College Park in the fourth as Ward and N.C. State product Cat Barber helped stretch the lead to as many as 15 in the final minutes.

The Skyhawks finished out at .548 from the field and .474 from the three-point line to grab the road victory.

Sibert led all scorers with 26 points for College Park. Ward added 21 points and 8 rebounds, and Barber finished with 16 points and 11 assists.

Dozier scored 20 and doled out four assists for Windy City and Thomas Wilder did a little bit everything with 16 points, four rebounds, four assist and four steals.

Windy City (10-12) will host the Fort Wayne Mad Ants Saturday night on the second of a back-to-back.
