Tonight's Matchup: The San Francisco Bulls (21-33-1-6) wrap up their three-game set with the Western Conference-leading Alaska Aces (45-12-2-4), tonight, at the Cow Palace. This is the ninth and final meeting between the two clubs. The Bulls trail in the season series 2-7-0-0.

Yesterday afternoon the Bulls announced that goalie Thomas Heemskerk was recalled by San Jose, giving the netminder his first NHL call-up. Heemskerk is practicing with the team, filling in for the injured Thomas Greiss.

On the heels of that exciting news, last night the Bulls turned in a strong effort, but fell just short, losing 3-2 to the Alaska Aces. Twice the Bulls found themselves down a goal, and twice they came back to tie the game. Yanni Gourde continued his strong play and scored San Francisco's first goal, with assists from Nick Walsh and Christian Ouellet. In the third period another newcomer, Bryan Cameron, tallied an unassisted goal. Six minutes later the Aces again retook the lead, this time for good, sealing the victory. The Bulls had the edge in shots, 32-29.

San Francisco's new faces continue to bring a spark to the lineup. After notching his third goal last night, Gourde now has a six-game point streak (3 goals, 3 assists). He has registered a point each game since being loaned from Worcester. Cameron also scored his third goal with the Bulls, his 18th overall on the season. Nick Walsh, who made his debut last night after being acquired from Gwinnet, registered his first point, an assist on Gourde's goal.

The Alaska Aces remain in first place in the Western Conference with 96 points, eight points up on the Ontario Reign. San Francisco sits in eighth place in the Western Conference with 49 points, six points back of the Utah Grizzlies.

Tonight the Bulls continue Eco-Friendly Weekend. The first 500 fans, ages 13 and over, will receive an SF Bulls travel cup. In addition, ABC 7 News anchor Dan Ashley will be performing with this band, Push, during pre-game and intermission.

Tomorrow, March 10, the Bulls are back in action to take on the Las Vegas Wranglers. The game begins at 2:15. Call 855-SF-BULLS for tickets!
