
Bulls' Big Inning Delivers Win

DURHAM, NC - JJ Furmaniak ripped a 2-RBI double to left field to cap a five-run second inning in the Bulls 6-2 win over the Lehigh Valley IronPigs on Saturday night at Durham Bulls Athletic Park. The win was the first for the Bulls on the home stand and ensures that they will hang on to their South Division lead.
The Bulls loaded the bases against IronPigs started Ryan Feierabend (9-7) to start the second inning. Feierabend walked both Dan Johnson and Leslie Anderson and then allowed a single to Daniel Mayora. Nevin Ashley drove a single to left field to score Johnson and give the Bulls a 1-0 lead. John Matulia then delivered a 2-run double plating Anderson and Mayora to make it 3-0. Furmaniak followed with a double to score Ashley and Matulia.
Matt Torra (1-1) picked up the win for the Bulls working six innings allowing five hits and two runs. Dane De La Rosa and Rob Delaney combined to go three inning allowing just one hit to finish out the game. Delaney worked one and a third innings to earn his fourth save of the season.
Durham will warp up their series with Lehigh Valley on Friday August 6 at 7:05 p.m. The Bulls will send Matt Moore (2-0) to the mound against the Iron Pigs Ryan Edell (3-3). Tickets are available online at www.durhambulls.com or at 919-956-BULL. The game can be heard on 620 the Buzz.
