Sacramento River Cats News Release

West Sacramento, CA. - The Sacramento River Cats (26-34) had their three-game winning streak snapped in their return home from a 12-game road trip, falling to the visiting Round Rock Express (29-32) on Thursday.

Right-hander Matt Frisbee (1-5) struggled with walks and home runs, with four of his five earned runs coming on two home runs. Despite the two costly mistakes, Frisbee struck out six in 5.2 innings.

Left fielder Jason Krizan plated second baseman Peter Maris with a third-inning single to right field for the River Cats' lone run. Krizan finished the day 2-for-5, recording his team-leading 20th multi-hit game and 42 RBI.

The Sacramento bullpen provided an excellent 3.1 innings of work, extending their scoreless streak to 9.1 innings. Right-hander Trevor Hildenberger threw 1.1 hitless innings with a strikeout, and lefty Conner Menez struck out four while allowing just one hit in 2.0 frames.

Rehabbing right-hander Aaron Sanchez (0-1, 9.82) is slated to throw for Sacramento on Friday at 7:05 p.m. He'll take on Round Rock left-hander Wes Benjamin (1-2, 7.52). Listen to Johnny Doskow call the game online at rivercats.com or on the MiLB First Pitch app.
