HAGERSTOWN, MD - The BlueClaws scored two runs in the second inning, and that was all they would need in game two of a doubleheader against the Suns, winning 2-1 to force a series split.

Jeremy Barnes hit a leadoff single to start the second, and Anthony Hewitt added a one out base hit of his own.

With two outs Alan Schoenberger reached on an error by shortstop Rick Hague that scored Barnes, and Jiwan James hit an RBI single to push the lead to 2-0.

Eric Massingham (4-2) threw three scoreless out of the pen for the win. He, Mike McGuire, and Ebelin Lugo combined to hold the Suns to a run on five hits in seven innings.

The Suns cut the deficit in half in the third. Eury Perez singled with one out, stole second for his 51st stolen base of the season, and came in on a Hague single to make it a 2-1 ballgame.

Wednesday at 7:05 pm the BlueClaws will take on the Hickory Crawdads, three-and a half games back in the Northern Division. This is the first time the two teams will meet this season.
