HICKORY, NC - The Delmarva Shorebirds rallied for six runs in the top of the ninth inning to come back and defeat the Hickory Crawdads, 11-6, before 777 fans at L.P. Frans Stadium on Tuesday night.

The Crawdads (29-27, 69-57) entered the bottom of the ninth with a 6-5 lead before the Shorebirds began their six-run comeback. 3B Ty Kelly drove in two with a bases-loaded single and RF Mikey Planeta plated three with a bases-loaded double. RHP David Walters took over on the mound for Delmarva (23-35, 55-73) and pitched a scoreless bottom of the ninth to close out the 11-6 Shorebirds win.

Kelly got the scoring started in the top of the first against Crawdads starter LHP Robbie Erlin with a solo home run to left. DH T.J. Baxter drove in another run with an RBI sacrifice fly to left field in the top of the third, scoring SS Garabez Rosa to extend the Delmarva lead to 2-0.

The 'Dads then took the lead with three runs in the bottom of the fourth on three consecutive RBI doubles against Shorebirds starter RHP Kenny Moreland by CF Jared Bolden, C Zach Zaneski, and 3B Matt West to go ahead, 3-2.

The Crawdads plated two more in the fifth to take a 5-2 lead, but Delmarva worked it back even with a run in the sixth and two in the seventh to tie it at 5-5. The Crawdads then reclaimed the lead in the bottom of the eighth on an RBI double to left field by LF Yefry Castillo, scoring West from third for a 6-5 advantage. However, Delmarva responded with the six-run ninth inning to account for the 11-6 Shorebirds win.
