Green Bay Rockers News Release
Green Bay, Wis. - Following four straight games on the road, the Green Bay Bullfrogs toughest stretch of road games will continue on Wednesday with a home-and-home double header against the Wisconsin Woodchucks. After two games on Wednesday, the Bullfrogs will head back out to Michigan for a two-game series with the Kalamazoo Growlers.
Last time out, the Bullfrogs came out on the losing end of a back-and-forth game with the Battle Creek Bombers. After the Bullfrogs took a 2-1 lead, Battle Creek stormed back to score three runs in the eighth inning and grab the 4-2 lead. Despite a strong comeback by the Bullfrogs in the ninth inning, Battle Creek held on to win 4-3 on Tuesday. Dean Long (Emporia State) and Ivan Vieitez (Lenoir-Rhyne) led Green Bay offensively, as they each recorded two hits and an RBI.
In Game One of the double header on Wednesday, Luke Watson (UW-Stevens Point) will take the mound looking to get the Bullfrogs back on the winning track. The Appleton, Wisconsin native has made 15 appearances (five starts) with Green Bay this season and owns a 1-2 record with a 5.34 ERA. In 35.1 innings pitched, Watson has struck out 41 while walking only ten. Watson has thrown 5.1 innings against Wisconsin this season and has given up just one earned run on six hits.
Parker Dunshee (Wake Forest) will oppose Watson on the hill for the Woodchucks in Game One. Dunshee will be making his ninth start of the season and holds a 3-2 record with a 5.54 ERA. One of his starts did come against Green Bay on June 13th when he earned a no decision after throwing three innings, giving up three runs on three hits to the Bullfrogs.
In Game Two, another Appleton, Wisconsin native, Nathan Disch (Jacksonville) will start at pitcher for the Bullfrogs. Dish has appeared in seven games, with three starts, for Green Bay since joining the team in late June. In 23 innings of work, Disch has a 3-0 record with a 1.95 ERA. His last start came on July 24th against the La Crosse Loggers. Disch surrendered just three hits and no runs over six innings while striking out a season-high eight batters.
Seth Davis (Augustana) will be making his seventh start for the Woodchucks in Game Two of the double header. In 33.2 innings, Davis has accumulated a 3-2 record with a 5.34 ERA for Wisconsin. Davis' last appearance came against Kalamazoo on July 24th when he threw two innings and gave up one run on three hits to pick up the win.
Game One will take place at Athletic Park in Wausau, Wisconsin at 1:05 p.m. before the two teams return to Joannes Stadium in Green Bay for Game Two. First pitch for the night cap in Green Bay is scheduled for 7:05 p.m.
