Bulldogs Sign David Urquhart to Contract

HAMILTON, ON - Hamilton Bulldogs General Manager Julien BriseBois announced today the signing of defenceman David Urquhart to a one-year contract (2010-2011). As per club policy, financial terms of the agreement were not disclosed.

Urquhart, 25, played in 49 regular season games with the Hartford Wolf Pack last season recording four assists and 34 penalty minutes. The 6-foot, 190-pound defenceman also played in 13 regular season games with the Charlotte Checkers of the ECHL in 2009-2010, recording 10 points (two goals, eight assists) and 21 penalty minutes as well as seven post-season games with the Checkers earning two assists and 12 penalty minutes. From 2004 until 2008, the native of Thorold, Ontario played in 86 games with McGill University posting 70 points (13 goals, 57 assists) and 190 penalty minutes. Urquhart has played a total of 107 AHL games, all with the Wolf Pack, registering 18 points (six goals, 12 assists) and 70 penalty minutes.
