Rivermen Re-Sign Daryl Boyle

PEORIA, Ill. (July 1, 2010) - Peoria Rivermen General Manager Kevin McDonald has announced that the club has re-signed defenseman Daryl Boyle to an American Hockey League contract for the 2010-11 season.

Boyle, 23, played in the final 20 games of the season with the Rivermen after the team acquired him in a trade from the Rockford IceHogs on March 1. He registered nine points (four goals, five assists) and a plus-8 rating while with the Rivermen. He finished the season with 29 points (eight goals, 21 assists) and plus-5 in his 72 games between Peoria and Rockford.

He began his professional career with a six-game stint with the Norfolk Admirals in 2007-08 and appeared in 70 games for the club in 2008-09. He led all Norfolk rookie scorers in points (15) and assists (13) that season and overall has appeared in 125 AHL games over his career.

A native of Sparwood, BC, Boyle played four seasons for the Brandon Wheat Kings of the Western Hockey League where they reached the postseason every year.
