
Bulldogs Cool Heat with 3-1 Win

Hamilton, ON - The Hamilton Bulldogs defeated the Abbotsford Heat 3-1 on Tuesday night at Copps Coliseum. Aaron Palushaj and Nigel Dawes each had a goal and an assist while Drew MacIntyre made 37 saves for the win.
The Bulldogs opened the scoring at 14:48 of the first period. Dustin Boyd knocked the puck out of mid-air before batting a pass to the right side of the net, where Nigel Dawes was positioned. Dawes one-timed a shot past Abbotsford starting goaltender Jean-Philippe Lamoureux for his AHL-leading 35th goal of the season.
The Heat tied the game while on a five-on-three power play at 7:02 of the middle frame. T.J. Brodie received the puck from Carter Bancks while positioned in the slot. Brodie faked a shot before sending the puck to the left side of the net, where Jon Rheault fired a shot past a sprawling Hamilton starting goaltender Drew MacIntyre.
The 'Dogs regained the lead at 8:22 of the second stanza. Dawes received the puck from Boyd before blasting a shot on net. Lamoureux made the save but the rebound bounced out to the slot, where Palushaj whacked it past the goaltender and into the net.
Hamilton added an empty net marker at 19:42 when J.T. Wyman fired the puck into the empty Abbotsford goal.
The Bulldogs host the Heat for a rematch tomorrow at 7:00 p.m. at Copps Coliseum. All regular season Hamilton Bulldogs broadcasts on AM 820 CHAM will begin with a pre-game show 30 minutes prior to the scheduled start time.
