Brophey Suspended for Remainder of Season

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. - The American Hockey League today announced that Rockford IceHogs center Evan Brophey has been suspended for seven (7) games as a result of his actions in a game vs. Hamilton on Mar. 25.

Brophey was suspended under the provisions of AHL Rule 28.1 (supplementary discipline).

Brophey will miss Rockford's games Wednesday (Mar. 30) at Lake Erie, Friday (Apr. 1) at Oklahoma City, Sunday (Apr. 3) at Texas, Apr. 5 at San Antonio, Apr. 8 vs. Lake Erie, Apr. 9 vs. Grand Rapids and Apr. 10 at Chicago.

The Kitchener, Ont. native broke Rockford's all-time games played record, appearing in his 299th career game with the IceHogs in Rockford's 3-2 win at Chicago on March 27.

Brophey has recorded 18 points (10g-8a) and 65 penalty minutes in 66 games for the IceHogs in 2010-11.
