
Bucs Edged in Shootout

Urbandale, IA - The Bucs secure a point but fall at home. Dubuque's Connor Kurth started the scoring with the lone Fighting Saints goal in regulation. A shot from Chase Ramsay with a tip by Killian Kiecker-Olson tied the game with eight seconds left in the second period. Going into the third period, Des Moines led shots-on-goal with 13 to Dubuque's 11.
The third period brought power play chances for both teams, but resulted in no goals, forcing overtime. Des Moines got a two-minute man advantage 2:33 into overtime and had five shots on goal. With ten seconds left Dubuque got the man advantage to end overtime.
Connor Kurth took the first shot of the shootout for the Fighting Saints, but was blocked by Szyszka in the net. Paul Davey took the first shot for Des Moines and was held off by Geisel. Beck scored the first goal of the shootout for Dubuque putting the Fighting Saints ahead. Killian Kiecker-Olson took the second shot for the Bucs, but the shot was blocked once again. Kenny Connors sealed the win for Dubuque with the final goal of the shootout. Lucas Szyszka had 19 saves on 20 shots-on-goal.
The Buccaneers take on the Fighting Saints in Dubuque tonight, Saturday, November 27th. Friday, December 3rd and Saturday, December 4th the Bucs are back at home playing the Fargo Force.
