Bucks Snap Losing Streak

LAREDO, TX- The Laredo Bucks of the Central Hockey League beat the Rio Grande Valley Killer Bees 5-3 Monday night at Laredo Energy Arena. With the win the Bucks snap their franchise high six game losing streak and improve to 5-8-1 (11 points).

Jeff Bes and Neil Trimm had two points apiece (1-12) while Torrie Jung stopped a career-high 44 shots as the Bucks tied the Cricket Cup Standings with five points apiece.

The Bees (7-6-2) erased a three-goal deficit only to see the Bucks score two goals in 42 seconds in the third period to snap their franchise high five game home losing streak.

Jarred Mohr put the Bucks up 4-3 with 8:30 left in the third period when he rifled home a slap shot from the right circle off of Trimm's face off win. The strike was Mohr's first of the season.

Trimm would increase the Bucks lead to 5-3 just 42 seconds later when he jammed in a rebound from the left side of the crease to net his seventh of the campaign.

Laredo has won every game this season when they have scored four or more goals (5-0).

The Bucks were outshot 46-36 in the game.

The Bucks came out firing on all cylinders as they took a 3-0 lead in the first period.

Justin Styffe gave the Bucks a 1-0 lead when he hammered in a rebound from the right circle at the 8:40 mark of the first to score his second goal in three games. Laredo has scored first in two straight games.

The Bucks increased their lead to 2-0 with 3:27 left in the first when Jeff Bes crashed the net and banged in a rebound from the slot to score his second goal in as many games. Bes scored his 600th CHL point in the game.

Laredo would increase their lead to 3-0 with just 1:56 left in the first when Darryl Smith redirected a pass from Daniel Koger to pick up his first goal of the season since returning to the Bucks on November 9th.

The Bucks outshot the Bees 19-16 in the first period.

The Killer Bees struck twice in the second period to cut the Bucks lead to 3-2 after 40 minutes of play.

Sean Muncy cut Laredo's lead to 3-1 at the 5:24 mark of the second when he jammed in a pass from Tomas Klempa on an odd man rush to score his fifth of the season.

Rio made it 3-2 Laredo with 9:18 left in the second when Darcy Campbell poked in a rebound to score his fifth of the season.

Laredo was outshot in the second period 19-6.

Jake Obermyer tied the game at 3-3 just 6:37 into the third period.

Juliano Pagliero stopped 31 of 36 shots he faced for the Bees.

O'LEARY RELEASED, SCALI ACTIVATED

Prior to the Bucks game against the Bees Monday night the team released forward Mark O'Leary. O'Leary played in just 14 games for the Bucks since signing with the team in January of last season. This season O'Leary had one goal in five games and was a minus-three.

Scali suffered an upper-body injury in the Bucks season-opening 4-2 loss at Rio Grande Valley and missed Laredo's last 12 games before returning Monday night.
