
Bucks Drop Killer Bees in Laredo

Rio Grande Valley Killer Bees News Release
LAREDO, Texas- The Rio Grande Valley Killer Bees (7-6-2) were able to battle back from a three-goal deficit at the start of the second period but the Laredo Bucks (5-8-1) would add a pair of goals in the third to take the 5-3 victory Monday night. Juliano Pagliero made 31 saves and Sean Muncy, Brett Wilson and Jake Obermeyer all scored for the Bees.
The Laredo Bucks started the first period with a fire putting three goals in before the horn would sound. Justin Styffe scored on the backdoor after a pass from Serge Dube. The Bucks would increase their lead at the 16:33 mark as Jeff Bes put in a two-on-one rebound after Pagliero made the initial save on the Jeff Hazelwood shot. The third goal came from Darryl Smith off a great pass from Daniel Koger.
The Rio Grande Valley Killer Bees began to mount a comeback in the second period when Sean Muncy scored his fifth goal of the season. Muncy came in with Tomas Klempa and Klempa fed it to Muncy who tapped it to the back of the net cutting the lead to two goals.
The Bees would make it a one-goal lead at the 10:43 mark of the second period as Brett Wilson one-touched a brilliant pass from Brett Clouthier pass Bucks netminder Torrie Jung. Tyler Lehrke also picked up an assist, his third point in two games.
After two periods of play the Bees were only trailing by a goal and would tie it up at the start of the third period. While on the power-play Jake Obermeyer ripped a shot from the point that beat Jung with assists going Darcy Campbell and Aaron Lee. For Obermeyer it was his first goal of the season.
With the game tied it would only take a minute for the Bucks to put it out of reach scoring a pair of goals in under a minute at 11:30 and 12:12 marks. Jarred Mohr ripped a shot from the point that beat Pagliero high-glove-side and Neil Trimm scored a rebound goal, the second such of the night.
The Killer Bees and Bucks will face each other again on Wednesday evening at State Farm Arena at 7:00 p.m. Tickets are available on killerbeehockey.com or calling 956-843-PUCK (7825).
