May 30, 2018 - Northwoods League (Northwoods)
Waterloo Bucks News Release
The Waterloo Bucks (0-2) dropped a extra-innings heartbreaker in La Crosse (2-0) Wednesday evening by a 3-2 final. Brendon Hueth (2-4, RBI) and Drue Galassi (3-5, 2B, RBI, SB) drove in the lone runs for the Bucks in the 4th with a pair of RBI singles. Waterloo was highly active on the basepaths, picking up steals from Deion Thompson, Trey Leonard, and Galassi.
Eric Reardon threw well in his first Bucks start, allowing just two runs on two hits and three walks while striking out three. His fastball drew plenty of whiffs, culminating in a 13.2% swinging strike rate. The bullpen trio of Karl Hirsch, Michael Sebby, and Christian Griffin combined to allow just 1 run on 4 hits and 3 walks while punching out 4 over 5.1 innings.
Waterloo returns to Cost Cutters Field at Riverfront Stadium on Thursday, May 31 at 6:35 p.m. to open a two game home-and-home with Rochester.
