
Buccaneers earn 5-3 victory over Chicago

DES MOINES - Forward H.T. Lenz scored two powerplay goals for the Buccaneers - sealing a 5-3 victory over Chicago tonight at Buccaneer Arena in front of a crowd of 3351.
In the first period, Chicago got on the board first with a goal from Greg Wolfe at 2:29. Lenz put his first powerplay goal of the evening on the board at 10:25. The goal, assisted by Ryan Walters, tied the game 1-1.
In the second, Kevin Lind scored a powerplay goal for the Steel at 4:55. Jack Berger put his second goal of the season past Chicago goalie Nick Pisellini shortly afterwards. The goal, scored at 11:41, tied the game back up at 2-2. The Buccaneers took the lead at 15:18 with a powerplay goal from Austin Coldwell, who put the puck between the pipes off assists from T.J. Tynan and Walters. The goal put the Buccaneers up 3-2 heading into the second intermission.
Chicago's Jay Camper scored the Steel's final goal of the game at 7:10 in the third, tying the game back up 3-3. Mitch Cain scored at 9:22 putting the Buccaneers up 4-3 and just over four minutes later Lenz scored his second powerplay goal sending the crowd to their feet. The final score of the game was 5-3.
The Bucs ended the game with 33 shots on goal and went 3 for 8 on the powerplay. Eric Mihalik recorded the win and stopped 16 of 19 shots on goal. Ryan Walters, T.J. Tynan and H.T. Lenz were named stars of the game.
The team returns to action tomorrow night against the Omaha Lancers. The doors open for the game at 6:15 p.m., with opening faceoff scheduled for 7 p.m.
