WATERLOO, Iowa - Matt McNeely (Burnsville, Minn.) made 37 saves, but the U.S. National Under-17 Team was unable to get on the board as it fell to the Waterloo Black Hawks, 3-0, here tonight at Young Arena.

Waterloo notched the game's first goal at 15:14 of the second stanza when Brock Montpetit slid the puck to T.J. Brown who slammed it home from the left side of the crease. McNeely made 24 saves during the first 40 minutes of the game to limit Team USA's deficit to just one goal.

Tyler Barnes doubled the Black Hawks advantage when he knocked home a rebound from the top of the crease at 7:51 of the third frame for a power-play marker. Waterloo made it 3-0 when Nick Ebert's left-point shot caught a deflection and snuck inside the right post at 14:15. McNeely made 13 more stops in the period, but none of Team USA's 10 shots in the final 20 minutes beat C.J. Motte, allowing the Black Hawks to skate away with the 3-0 victory.
