January 10, 2009 - Western Hockey League (WHL)
Chilliwack Bruins News Release
The Chilliwack Bruins have traded the Western Hockey League rights to 19 year old forward Oscar Moller to the Seattle Thunderbirds in exchange for Ondrej Palat and a fourth round pick in the 2010 WHL Bantam Draft. If Moller, who is currently with the NHL's Los Angeles Kings plays for Seattle during the 2008-09 season, the draft pick becomes a second round pick in the 2009 WHL Bantam Draft. In 30 games with the Kings this season, Moller has six goals and seven assists.
Palat is currently playing with Vitkovice in the Czech Republic.
Earlier in the day the Bruins added 18 year old forward Mike Krgovich to their active roster. Krgovich, who hails from Coquitlam B.C. joins the Bruins from the Surrey Eagles of the British Columbia Junior Hockey League. In 32 games with the Eagles this season the 5'11 177lb right winger scored eight goals, 16 assists and recorded 34 minutes in penalties.
Prior to joining the Eagles, Krgovich spent parts of two seasons with the Western Hockey League's Red Deer Rebels. After appearing in four games with the Rebels in 2006-07, Krgovich suited up for 63 games with the Rebels during the 2007-08 season scoring four goals and three assists to go along with 54 penalty minutes.
Krgovich is expected to make his debut with the Bruins tonight versus the Kamloops Blazers.
The Bruins have also reassigned forward Mike Small to the St. Albert Steel of the Alberta Junior Hockey League. In 10 games with the Bruins this season, Small registered one assist.
