Oil Kings Stand Pat At WHL Trade Deadline And Re-assign One Player

Edmonton Oil Kings News Release

Edmonton, AB - The Western Hockey League trade deadline has come and gone and the Oil Kings are going to stand pat. At the end of the day, the only move the organization made was re-assigning 18 year old goalie Dalyn Flette to the Camrose Kodiaks of the Alberta Junior Hockey on a conditioning assignment.

"The most important thing right now for Dalyn is to get a chance to play." said Green. "He has progressed quite nicely since his surgery on his ankle back in November. He's worked hard but now he just needs to play some significant minutes. He'll get that chance in Camrose."

Flette turns 19 years old on February 8th. He has played 57 Western Hockey League games and has a record of 14-27-2-4 record and 2 career shutouts.

Last week the Oil Kings recalled 16 year old defenseman Kieran Friesen from the Princeton Posse of the KIJHL in B.C. so the Oil Kings will carry 24 players on their active roster for the stretch run of this season.

Edmonton enters Saturday's action in a 3 way tie for 6th place in the WHL's Eastern Conference with the Kootenay Ice and the Prince Albert Raiders.
