Rockford Aviators News Release

TRAVERSE CITY, MI - Kyle Brueggemann won his third straight game as the Rockford Aviators, presented by Pearson, cruised to a 6-1 victory over the Traverse City Beach Bums tonight.

Brueggemann pitched seven innings and allowed just one run on four hits while walking one and striking out seven. He earned Frontier League Pitcher of the Week honors last week and has allowed just two earned runs in his last three starts.

The Aviators jumped on the Beach Bums early, scoring two runs in the first inning on a two-RBI single by Kenny Bryant that scored Michael Hur, who led off the inning with a double, and Edgar Corcino who singled and stole a base.

In the bottom of the second inning, Jose Vargas scored after a wild pitch from Brueggemann for the only run of the game for the Beach Bums making the score 2-1 in favor of the Aviators.

Brian Bistagne recorded his third home run of the year in the top of the third inning. The opposite field home run was good for three runs as Dusty Robinson and Bryant also came in to score to give the Aviators a 5-1 lead.

The Aviators tallied one more run in the top of the sixth inning on a RBI single by Robinson that scored Michael Hur to give the Aviators their 6-1 lead.

The series with the Beach Bums will wrap up with the rubber match tomorrow afternoon at 5:05 p.m. Eastern Time in Traverse City.

Fans can listen to Jared Revlett call the game on the Meridix Network. The link to the broadcast can be found at www.rockfordaviators.com.
