
Brown Selected to Participate in 2008 All-Star Home Run Derby

SALT LAKE CITY (July 9, 2008) - The Pacific Coast League announced today that Salt Lake Bees infielder and 2008 PCL All-Star Matt Brown has been selected to participate in the 2008 Triple-A Home Run Derby on July 14, as part of the three-day All-Star festivities. Top sluggers from the International League and PCL will compete in three rounds of hitting at Louisville Slugger Field beginning at 7:05 p.m. (EDT).
Brown, a native of Bellevue, Wash., has appeared in 79 games for the Bees this season, batting .330 and leading the team in runs scored (65), home runs (18), and doubles (28). The infielder made his major league debut on May 10, 2007, and appeared in four games with the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim last season. Brown has appeared in five games with the Angels in 2008, registering one double and two RBI.
