Augusta, NJ (July 25, 2008) - LF Dennis Abreu extended his hitting streak to a season-high 24 games with two hits as the Rox took the first contest from the Sussex Skyhawks 13-5 at Skylands Park in Augusta, NJ.

Abreu is approaching the Can-Am League record for most consecutive games with a hit. The current league record is 27 games. DH Jason Colson also put together a memorable night with 5 RBIs including his 8th home run of the season.

Brockton got the scoring started with 2B Melvin Falu's 7th home run of the season in the top of the 1st off Sussex starting pitcher Rich Lawyer. After the Skyhawks tagged Rox LHP Rolando Viera for three runs over five frames, Brockton responded with five runs in the top of the 7th.

The rally began after SS Dominic Ramos and Falu reached base following a pair of botched plays in the infield. Rox 3B Phillip Cuadrado singled in a pair of runs with the bases loaded. The next batter, Colson, also drove in a pair of runs with a double to right field to help put the game away.

Viera started the game for Brockton and allowed three runs over five innings. RHP Greg Bunn pitched a scoreless 6th in his Rox debut and earned his first win.

The Rox have now won a season-high six straight games and are 29-28 overall and 7-3 in the second half. Brockton is over the .500 mark for the first time since June 15th.

The Rox continue their three-game series with the Skyhawks tomorrow at 5:05 PM. RHP Wayne Lundgren (5-2, 3.92 ERA) will start for Brockton and RHP Stevie Delabar (3-2, 2.40 ERA) will get the nod in the season series finale on Sunday.
