Brito Shines in Aces First Loss of the Season

Reno, NV - The Aces fell to the Grizzlies, 15-8, falling to 2-1 on the season. Despite a 5-for-5 day from Socrates Brito and a 2-for-3 day from Marcus Littlewood, the Aces couldn't muster up enough offense to keep up with Fresno.

Fresno utilized the long ball once again. Jon Kemmer (solo) hit his first of the season, and Jack Mayfield (grand slam) hit a home run for the second straight night. Tyler White and AJ Reed each added a pair of RBI, as well. Rogelio Armenteros will get the ball for Fresno tomorrow afternoon. On the other side, Albert Suarez will make his Aces debut as Reno tries to improve to 3-1.

Notes & Information

Tonight's Starter: Right-hander Kris Medlen made his Aces debut this after-noon against the Fresno Grizzlies. Medlen, a 2015 World Series champi-on with the Kansas City Royals, made 16 starts with Triple-A Gwinnett (ATL) in 2017, finishing 3-7 with a 5.42 ERA. Medlen tossed 3.0 innings and allowed three earned runs on three hits.

275: Joey Krehbiel made his fourth career Aces appearance tonight and has a 0.00 ERA with 5 strikeouts in 4.2 innings. He needs one more appear-ance to get to 275 for his professional career.

5-for-5: Socrates Brito went 5-for-5 tonight, marking the first time an Aces player has accomplished this feat since August 5, 2017, when Kristopher Negron went 5-for-5 with a double and an RBI in a 15-8 loss to the Nashville Sounds.
