Salt Lake Bees News Release
SALT LAKE CITY - The Salt Lake Bees traded blows with Albuquerque all night, but fell 9-5 to the Isotopes on Friday at Smith's Ballpark.
The two teams were scoreless through four innings before the Isotopes would break the seal with a three-run inning off reliever Vicente Campos. Salt Lake would immediately get back into it with back-to-back home runs from Chris Carter and Rymer Liriano, the first back-to-back homers for the Bees since September 1, 2015. In the seventh, Albuquerque would strike for two more runs and the Bees would once again respond as Jose Briceno connected on a two-run homer to bring the Bees back within one. Albuquerque would then get three more in the eighth inning and a run in the ninth to ultimately put the game out of reach. Bees outfielder Jabari Blash led off the ninth with a triple and scored on a wild pitch to try and ignite a rally, but Salt Lake would get no closer. Campos (0-1) would take the loss for the Bees after giving up five runs on five hits in two and two-thirds innings. Nick Tropeano made his first start since Tommy John surgery, throwing three and one-third scoreless innings while striking out 7. Adam Hofackett and Ralston Cash finished it up for the bullpen combining for two and two-thirds innings with 4 runs allowed. Liriano and David Fletcher led the Bees offense, each coming up with a two-hit night while scoring a run
