Brito Delivers in 9th; Dallas Shuts Door in 2-0 Claws' Win on Wednesday

WAPPINGERS FALLS, NY - The BlueClaws got a big win on Wednesday, breaking a 0-0 tie on an Erick Brito RBI single in the top of the ninth inning in a 2-0 win over Hudson Valley.

The BlueClaws finally broke through a scoreless tie in the top of the ninth. With two outs, Erick Brito legged out an infield single allowing Bryan Rincon to score and give the BlueClaws a 1-0 lead. Two batters later, Gabriel Rincones Jr. walked with the bases loaded to put the BlueClaws up 2-0.

Jack Dallas (6-2), who threw a scoreless eighth inning, threw a 1-2-3 ninth inning and earned the win. He struck out three of the six batters he faced.

Jersey Shore stays within one game of first place Brooklyn with now four games left to play.

The BlueClaws threatened early and left runners in scoring position in both the third and fifth innings.

Starter Christian McGowan came out after four scoreless innings, allowing two hits and one walk while striking out six. Konnor Ash got the next five outs, and with a runner at second in the sixth, Andrew Walling came on for the final out of the inning. Walling also threw a scoreless seventh.

Gabriel Rincones Jr. had a hit and two walks for the BlueClaws in the win.

The teams continue their series on Thursday night at 7:05 pm. RHP Gunner Mayer starts for Jersey Shore.
