
Braves To Hold Education Day Thursday

Richmond, VA - The Richmond Braves host the Louisville Bats Thursday at noon at The Diamond. Thursday is Education Day. Nearly 750 students from 13 schools will be on hand for a day of educational programs and Braves baseball.
The program includes presentations from Gene Ayers, the DARE co-coordinator for the Virginia State Police; John O'Connor, sportswriter from the Richmond Times Dispatch; Trooper Chris Flaherty from the Richmond CCI Unit K-9; Trooper Teddy, the Virginia State Police Association Mascot; and the DARE mascot.
The students will range in age from kindergarten through high school. The day includes educational presentations starting at 9:45, lunch, and the Braves game vs. Louisville.
The Braves will wear Virginia Tech hats for the last two games of the homestand. Following Thursday's game Braves players will autograph the hats which will be auctioned off at www.rbraves.com. 100% of the proceeds will be donated to the Hokie Spirit Memorial Fund to aid victims of Monday's shootings at Virginia Tech.
