GAME NOTES: The WHEAT KINGS close out a busy three game in three night Western Hockey League weekend Sunday night in PRINCE ALBERT against the RAIDERS...BRANDON brings a 2-game win streak on the road into tonight's game...WHEATS have collected at least a point in three straight games (2-0-0-1)...BRANDON kicked off the weekend with a disappointing 5-4 Overtime Shootout loss to the Eastern Division leading REGINA PATS...BRANDON is currently 5-4-0-1 on the season, good for eleven points and one point back of both REGINA and SWIFT CURRENT in the Eastern Division...The WHEAT KINGS are 3-1-0-1 at the Keyston e Centre...and they're 2-3-0 on the road...In games against Eastern Division rivals, BRANDON is 2-2-0-1...3-2-0 vs. Central Division teams...As for the Eastern Conference standings, BRANDON is in a three way tie for sixth place with both CALGARY and the KOOTENAY ICE...WHEAT KINGS trimmed their roster to 25 players Friday when they dealt 19-year old goalkeeper KURT JORY to MOOSE JAW for a 5th round bantam draft choice...BRANDON hosts LETHBRIDGE this Friday night.

LAST GAME: ST. LOUIS BLUES' draft choice RYAN REAVES scored his first two goals of the season, including a second period shorthanded effort, and assisted on MARK DERLAGO'S game winner as the WHEAT KINGS edged the BLADES 3-2 in SASKATOON on Saturday night...The win was BRANDON'S first against an Eastern Division rival since the club's home opener (3-2 over MOOSE JAW) on September 22nd...The WHEAT KINGS outshot the BLADES 32-25 as 17-year old rookie JOE CALIGIURI made his Western Hockey League debut between the pipes...BRANDON was 0-5 with the man advantage but managed to go 6-7 in the penalty killing department.

SCORING STATS: JURAJ SIMEK, the Slovakian born Swiss right-winger had his 7-game point scoring streak snapped Saturday night. During his first 7 WHL games, SIMEK was 7-6-13. His seven game point scoring streak was the third longest in the league this season...SIMEK, who is third in rookie scoring (behind RED DEER'S MARTIN HANZAL and KIRILL STARKOV), continues to share the club scoring lead with center CODEY BURKI, who was also kept off the scoresheet against the BLADES last night...MARK DERLAGO is 5-6-11 in his last six games...DUSTIN KOHN (2-9-11) is fourth among the league's top scoring blueliners...ANDREW CLARK has a point in five of his last six games and during that time, he's 4-5-9.

SPECIAL TEAMS: BRANDON'S powerplay leads the WHL with 18 goals on 65 opportunities (27.7%)...Penalty killing, the WHEATS are 20th (79.4%) in the 21-team circuit... BRANDON has been victimized for goals on five 5 on 3 powerplays...CODEY BURKI leads the club with 5 powerplay tallies...During the first 10 games of the regular season, the WHEAT KINGS have been forced to kill off 97 minor penalties (9.7 per game), which is among the highest in the 21-team circuit...As for playing with the man advantage, the WHEATS have had 65 powerplay chances, which is among the lowest in the WHL.

MILESTONES: CODEY BURKI, who recently surpassed the 100-point plateau, played in his 200th career game last Sunday night in Cranbrook...Defenceman DUSTIN KOHN, who is seven points away from 100 in his WHL career, played his 200th career game last night in SASKATOON...Injured captain TEEGAN MOORE, who is the club's active leader in games played (269), is 10 points away from the 100-point plateau...Goalkeeper TYLER PLANTE has moved past RICK KNICKLE and RON HEXTALL and into seventh place on the club's all time list for minutes played...MARK DERLAGO is seven points away from the century mark.

DID YOU KNOW? TEEGAN MOORE (shoulder) and CHAD ERB (shoulder) remain out...BRANDON has lost 18 man games to injury...BRANDON was 5-2-2-1 in games against the RAIDERS last season but lost 7-5 on Oct. 4th in the only game played between these two teams this season...DUSTIN KOHN was 1-3-4 in that game...Sophomore center ANDREW CLARK leads the club with an impressive +8 ranking...WHEAT KINGS have sold over 2,600 season tickets this season, which represents an all time high...BRANDON has drawn 21,000 fans to its first five home games...WHEAT KINGS have three former AAA midget league scoring champions on their roster (DERLAGO, TYLER DITTMER and 17-year old rookie NATHAN GREEN)... Rookie netminder JOE CALIGIURI finished second in the Mani toba AAA Midget league last season with a 2.04 goals against average and 5 shutouts...CODEY BURKI will be one of three WHEAT KINGS traveling to Souris Tuesday for the club's first MINOR HOCKEY CARAVAN of the 2006-07 campaign...Friday's game vs. REGINA was BRANDON'S first overtime game of the season...MARK DERLAGO leads the WHEATS with three game winning goals.
