Tonight the Everett Silvertips crushed the new expansion team, the Chilliwack Bruins, by a score of 8-0. This was the second meeting of the season between these two teams and Everett leads the series 2-0. With the win Everett jumps into first place in the US Division with 15 points and a 7-1-0-1 history. Chilliwack, at the bottom of the BC Division, stays there with 3 points and a 1-9-1-0 record.

Tonight was a big scoring night for Everett and veteran Zach Hamill led the way. He posted two tallies, one on a power play in the first and another during the third stanza. Hamill is currently on a nine game point streak. Jesse Smyke also earned a goal, his third on the year, late in the third period on another Everett power play. Numerous players contributed and posted numbers in both the goals and assists categories tonight. Brady Calla had one goal and two assists while Peter Mueller, Lukas Vartovnik, Moises Gutierrez, and Cody Thoring all earned one goal and one assist a piece. Posting the rest of the assists for the night were Zack Dailey and Kyle Beach with two and Graham Potuer, Eric Doyle and Taylor Ellington all with one a piece.

In goal Leland Irving was solid, although not extremely tested during tonight's match. He turned away all 14 shots he faced and improves his record to 6-1-0-1. This is his third shut out of the season. Alex Archibald, the Bruins' netminder, made 30 saves on 38 shots but drops his goaltending history to 1-7-1-0. On the power play the Silvertips scored on four opportunities out of ten while Chilliwack could not convert on five chances. Everett out shot their opponents 38-14.

The Silvertips' next game is on Tuesday, October 17th, when they will host the Tri-City Americans. The action starts at 7:05pm.
