The Blazers ventured out to Alberta for a pair of weekend games...earning a split through Calgary and Red Deer to push their record to 4-3-1-1. Here's how the weekend went:
Oct 13 @ Calgary; KAM-3, CGY-2: Keaton Ellerby's second goal of the game with 22 seconds left in regulation broke a 2-2 tie and lifted the Blazers to a 3-2 win over the Hitmen in Calgary last night. Brady Mason added the other Blazer goal as they outshot the Hitmen 28-21, including 16-7 in the first period. The Blazers were 2-for-11 on the PP and 7-for-7 on the PK. Dustin Butler earned his third straight win while Dan Spence took the loss.
Oct 14 @ Red Deer; RD-6, KAM-3: Linemates Martin Hanzal and Kirill Starkov combined for 4 goals and 6 points, keying a 5-goal rally, as the Rebels came back from a 3-1 first-period deficit to defeat the Blazers 6-3. Ray Macias, Juuso Puustinen, and Brock Nixon scored for the Blazers in a 4:59 span in the opening frame to answer the opening goal by the Rebels. Final shots were 33-25 Blazers with Dustin Butler valiant in the loss and Morgan Clark steady for the win. The Blazers were 2-for-12 on the PP and 5-for-8 on the PK.

ADT CANADA-RUSSIA CHALLENGE
The ADT Canada-Russia Challenge is coming to Kamloops on Thursday, November 30th. Team WHL will take on the Russians in a precursor to the National Junior Team Tryout Camp and the World Junior Hockey Championships. Tickets will go on sale for Blazer Season Ticket Holders starting this Monday (October 16th) with sales opening to the general public on Monday, October 30th. Season ticket holders have the option to purchase their seats for the game until October 30th with tickets open to the general public starting on October 31st. Tickets are $20 for adults and $15 for youths and seniors. Tickets will be available at the Interior Savings Centre Box Office...828-3339.
