Brahmas Sign Tibbetts For 2008-09

NORTH RICHLAND HILLS, Texas (December 5)-The Texas Brahmas of the Central Hockey League (CHL) announced today the addition of veteran forward Billy Tibbetts to the 2008-09 roster.

Tibbetts, 34, will be the Brahmas fourth veteran player in the lineup, having played 409 career games. In his tenured playing history, the 6-foot-2, 215 pound winger saw action in the National Hockey League (NHL) with the Pittsburgh Penguins, Philadelphia Flyers and New York Rangers in 82 games.

In his career, Tibbetts has accumulated 332 points (132 goals, 200 assists). Texas will look to Tibbetts physical play as well as he has 2111 total penalty minutes.

Texas hosts Bossier-Shreveport tonight with Tibbetts donning a number 24 sweater. For tickets to witness former NHL player Billy Tibbetts take the ice at the NYTEX Sports Centre, please contact the Brahmas Box Office at (817) 336-4423.

* Tonight is the Brahmas annual Teddy Bear Toss. Those in attendance are encouraged to bring new or gently used stuffed animals to toss onto the ice following the Brahmas first goal of the evening. The teddy bears will be donated to the Community Enrichment Center of North Richland Hills.

** Texas takes on the Laredo Bucks Saturday night at 7:05 PM for their first meeting this season. The first 2,000 fans at NYTEX will receive a game puck courtesy of Capital One Bank. Following the game the Brahmas will be at Bronco's Sports Bar in Hurst (900 Airport Fwy.).

*** Brahmas forward Jason Deitsch scored a goal with the Houston Aeros (AHL) yesterday in a 3-2 shootout loss. Deitsch was recalled by the Aeros on December 3.
