Fort Worth Brahmas News Release

NORTH RICHLAND HILLS, Texas (December 5)-With goaltender David Cacciola in true form and a strong powerplay, the Brahmas were able to blank the Mudbugs 4-0 Friday night at the NYTEX Sports Centre.

It was the annual 'Teddy Bear Toss' at the NYTEX Sports Centre and forward Grant Jacobsen sent the teddy bears flying with his eighth goal of the season on a powerplay goal. A little over a minute later forward Jordan Cameron and the Brahmas were on a 5-on-3 powerplay and took full advantage as Cameron scored his fourth goal of the season and Texas' second goal in the first period on Mudbug goaltender Ryan Mior. In net for Texas was David Cacciola.

In the second period Texas continued to play strongly and disciplined on both sides of the ice. Brahmas forward Topher Scott had a nasty head first into the boards collision early in the period but was able to shake it off as he added a powerplay goal of his own from Mior's doorstep to put Texas up 3-0 in the second.

As Cacciola was still in search for his first shutout of the season, the Brahmas offense did their part to extend the league as Marc Belanger took a pass from center ice and took Mior one-on-one before beating him top shelf at the 13:17 mark. The Mudbugs had 22 shots in the third period, but Cacciola stoned Bossier, holding on to the 4-0 shutout.
